We have translated Sanford University’s guide to Antimicrobial therapy>> National coordination council of Antimicrobial resistance is created in Georgia, In the format of council national strategy has been prepared, which, first of all, means rational pharmaco therapy. This is very important because of antimicrobial resistance related infections, which already overloads health care system is a heavy load. Such infections are difficult to treat and is related to certain costs”.
President of international consulting company, Global Alliance Jean-Elie Malkin talked about overall healthcare condition in Georgia and outlined Antimicrobial resistance as the way to rationalize the use of antibiotics;
“As the president of the Global Alliance, I would like to say we are supporting authorities of this country, Georgia and the Ministry of health and the Minister himself in ongoing process of improving the whole health system and this initiative which has been taken by the Ministry and NCDC of translating Sanford Guide on the using of antibiotics, it’s fully inline with what we are doing, why inline? Because we are aiming in the whole process of improving health system, to improve quality of services, to improve efficiency of services and at finally to improve the cost effectiveness of services,”Jean-Elie Malkin said.
By using better rationalizing the use of Antibiotics and I am sure this guide will allow all the practitioners to do this in this way, it will also allow in the field of the medicine which are infectious diseases which are very severe, be more effective to provide better quality of services but and to save money, saving money is important because misuse of antibiotics is finally as the consequences is increasing the overall cost of health, so not only it will be beneficiary but also for the authorities of this country.
Antimicrobial resistance is the global challenge of 21st century, which has surpassed state boundaries, expanded to all parts of the world and became pandemic. The rational therapy is on one hand an important intervention to treat infectious diseases and on the other, it is a major instrument to tackle antibiotic resistance.
