Tightening Quality Control on Drugs Excludes Existance of Counterfeited Products

From January 2016, Humanity Georgia company enters Georgian pharmaceutical market. Humanity Georgia will introduce a wide option of medications to the pharmaceutical market in the near future.

Quality of the company-manufactured medications is approved by the manufacturer’s EU GMP Certificate.

The first set of drugs will be represented by frequently-used drugs at the end of December 2015.

The Ministry of Healthcare plans to tighten quality control on drugs, which aims to increase trust among Georgian society towards India produced medicines.

The fact will increase affordability on drugs, which is highly important for the population.

Director of center for Family Medicine Marina Shikhaishvili made few comments in this regard.

“Generics are good drugs, problem arises when we face problems with “Similar’s”, these are counterfeited medicines, which are hard to tell the difference. Generally we need to know there are brands and brand names, when brand sells the brand name, retailers  often change the original name,” Dr. Marina Shikhaishvili said.

Many counterfeited drugs are among similar’s, that is why quality control on drugs is inevitable.

As for the Humanity Georgia, Shikhiashvili says that introducing new pharmaceutical companies on Georgian market is important.
