Expert Khatuna Lagazidze responded to the current situation of the pharmaceutical market, the importance of the quality of drugs in Georgia and the recent increase in prices.
Lagazidze noted that to some extent the country still needs intervention of the government in certain areas. Reviewing profit margins of the pharmaceutical companies is inevitable, according to the expert.
“Quality of drugs must not be called into question. Based on my observations, only unknown Doctors prescribe Georgian drugs to their patients. Acquaintances always advise patients to take drugs produced abroad. They often directly say that most Georgian drugs are fraud. It is necessary to have at least one proper drug quality control laboratory, which will be a guarantor of quality for the population.”
“I am a business person and I know how difficult following state regulations will be for the business sector,” the expert added.
